Brotherly Love

The boys were playing at their table today and, as always, they found themselves in the same spot. Most of the time I put them on opposite ends, yet the creep towards each other. Normally, Jeremiah will fuss that Michael is in his spot - but this time Michael put his arm around Jeremiah and they both started chuckling and leaning towards one another. It was a moment to remember!

I love having twins! Love it!

We had their one year old pictures done today. I am very excited about that. A woman in our church did them and we met her at a local park that was absolutely beautiful! They boys were good sports as they had to do 4 wardrobe changes (Including a monkey costume). They took a VERY good nap this afternoon as a result! Hopefully we will get them online by this weekend, so be on the lookout. :)

I went to the doctor yesterday just for a routine visit. The doctor was nice, no Dr. Nett (of course), but she was kind and was just amazed at the weirdness of my body - you all know I am not normal at all! I feel like I would be comfortable having her deliver our next child when we decide (actually when God decides) to extend our family - which, for all you curious people out there, will not be any time soon. I used to say that once we started having kids, I just wanted to keep going until we were done. But once we got pregnant with the boys, I then said I HAD TO HAVE at least 2 years - for my own sake. But that would mean that we would have to be pregnant in August for them to be 2 years apart, and we just don't feel ready for that - by any means! So, we will wait on the Lord to let us know when it is time to extend our family. We feel very confident that when the time is right we will know it. I remember we debated for about a year on whether or not to get off BC. And in July of 2007 we both knew, 100%, that it was the right time - and voila - a month later we got pregnant with the boys! What a blessing!

Well we have a very busy week and month ahead of us. We have a youth yard sale to raise money for the Summer Camp this Saturday. Mike is swamped with going through stuff that people have donated. I know he will be glad when Saturday is over - it is a lot of work! The next weekend is the Easter Musical. Both Mike and my mom are playing in it - so we will get a nice visit from Grandma Mimi - the boys have already expressed their excitement. The following weekend is the boys birthday - OH MY - they are almost a year old, you have got to be kidding me!!!! Those precious boys of ours! We will be doing their birthday party the following weekend on the 18th. We are excited about visits from both sides of the family as we praise the Lord and celebrate Michael and Jeremiah's first year! What a blessing they have been! The following weekend Mike and I and the boys will be taking a trip to Vidalia for the Vidalia Onion Festival - Whoo hoo! Onions and Airplanes - ALL WEEKEND LONG!

So as you can see, things are packed for us in the month of April! It was an amazing month for us last year and we look forward to the memories that will be created this year!

Sick babies and much needed update!

I am so sorry for the lack of updates lately! Ever since the boys have become more active it is getting harder to sit down and blog. I need to get better at it!

Here is a quick update on what's been going on:

The boys have been sick this week. Jeremiah has an ear infection and they both are running fevers. They have been exposed twice to the Rotovirus and we are hoping to dodge that bullet! Please pray for them, that this isn't the first signs of it and that it is just a plain cold and ear infection. I took Jeremiah to the doctor yesterday - lots of nasty stuff is going around at church so if it was any of that I wanted to catch it before it got too bad. Poor little man got poked and prodded all morning. He had to get his blood count checked and then they messed with his bad ear, and did RSV and flu swabs in the nose - he hated all of it and spent the time, not being messed with, cuddling with me - which of course I enjoyed - the cuddling that is. He doesn't cuddle often and I spent that time loving on my sweet little man! (I just wish he wasn't feeling so bad) The doctor put him on an antibiotic. I am having to try to keep both of the boys hydrated and we are doing tylenol/motrin every three hours. We have already gone through a bottle of motrin! I absolutely LOVE having twins, but one thing about it is that when one is sick, the other gets it as well! I guess that is with any number of children in the same house. I had to dress the boys different today so that I wouldn't get them confused on accident and give the wrong medicine to the wrong child. I know that sounds awful, but sometimes they looks so much alike and I can accidently get them confused without noticing the dot. (Jeremiah has a dot on his forehead).

On a good note Jeremiah now weighs 16 pounds 10 ounces! That was more then I expected. They are still little guys - just so miniature! I used to say I wanted fat babies - and when I found out I had two uteruses I knew that wouldn't happen, then when we found out we had twins, I definitely knew that wasn't going to happen - but, I tell you what, I love their tinyness! I am so in love with two itty bitty boys!!! They are so precious to us!

Here are some fun things they are doing now:
- They can both pull up to a standing position. EVERY day at their second nap I have to go in their room about 5 times and lay them back down. They can get to the position and have a hard time laying down on their own. About the 5th time, they normally will go to sleep.
- Michael is a champion crawler now! Whoo hoo - way to go Little Man!
- Jeremiah prefers the Army Crawl. He can really make fast work of it!
- They can see the tiniest object on the other side of the room, and go get it and insert it in their mouth faster then I can say "stop" - I, honestly, don't know how they do that so quickly!
- Both of them love to clap, and will clap if they see the other one doing it. Then they will look at us to see how excited we get!
- Michael loves to make clicking noises as long as we begin doing them first.
- They have now started table foods and are doing great with them. Their favorite so far is chicken and cheese.
- They play a pacifier game with Mike EVERY DAY, several times a day! Mike will put the paci (handle side first) in his mouth and they will grab it and put it in theirs. Then they will take it out and give it back to Mike. It is adorable. They are so used to playing that game that they steal the paci's out of the other babies in the nursery. :)

These babies are such a blessing to Mike and myself! We are so thankful that God has given them to us and that they are healthy, growing boys that will be ONE in a few weeks. Where as the time gone?

I will post lots of pictures tomorrow. It is getting late and I am not sure how well the boys will sleep tonight, so I better go and get some while I can!
