We went to the doctor yesterday because I was having some bleeding and cramping. I wasn't real concerned, but wanted to go in just to be sure - I'd rather be safe then sorry. Well, Dr. Nett put to doppler on my belly to hear the heartbeats and there they were - loud and strong. Baby B's was real fast and Baby A was a little slower (but still fast and right on target) - well Mike is now convinced that they are a boy and a girl because of the different heartbeats! We are very eager to find out what they are and we will be able to find out the Tues prior to Thanksgiving.
Well, because she heard the heartbeats she said that my chance of having a miscarriage is less then 1% - so we are basically out of the woods and feel so blessed that the Lord is giving us two children! Man - what a blessing! It is still a little hard to wrap our minds around it and at times it will hit me and I have to pause with emotion. We are just thanking the Lord for this blessing and praying for His guidance and wisdom in raising two children (and hopefully more to come).
I have also been having some "movement" feelings and was curious if was the babies or just gas that feels different. They movements have been isolated to my left side (which is the side I am pregnant on) and so I was sure it was the babies but asked my doctor to be sure before I spread the news. She said I should be feeling them by now because they are twins. So, that is exciting that I can actually rejoice when I feel it and not just think it is gas or something. I look forward to the day when Mike can feel them too! That will be lots of fun for the both of us!
Well - Friday marks TWELVE WEEKS!!!!! PTL!!! End of our first trimester!
Our babies our officially considered fetuses this week and no longer embroyos. They are over an inch and a half. All of their organs are formed and they are now just developing. Soon they will double in size and grow GRow GROw GROW!!! And so will I!!!

First Bill for the Babies!
Yes - Today is a very exciting day! We received our first "bill" for all the people that we will be paying to bring our two little ones into this world. I didn't realize how they charge you for EVERYTHING! It's almost like if you get a sip of water from the water fountain they charge you!!! Well our grand total for the month of September was .......drumroll.....$174.40!!! Not a whole lot, but before insurance it was - $2,109.95! - Remember that was JUST September!!! Thank the Lord for Insurance!
More exciting news is that we get to switch insurance companies during open enrollement - we will be switching back to Humana. To me, they are a great insurance company - the customer service has always been so nice and helpful! What is great about this Humana Insurance is that it covers 100% - no deductibles, no out-of-pocket max! You pay the first office co-pay and insurance covers the rest!
Good news - our maternity will be covered and we won't have to go bankrupt and eat pork-n-beans all the time in order to have twins and have them taken care of in the NICU. The Bad News - we have to pay up to December on our old insurance - which isn't horrible, but it's not the best!
So, we get this great insurance through UPS and I was thinking of making the twins little onesies to bring them home in that says "Paid for by UPS." What do you think?

Motherhood Matters
I ran across this article today by Mrs. Mary Mohler. Mrs. Mohler is the wife of Dr. Al Mohler, president of Southern Seminary (Where Mike attends).

We have Fraternal Twins!
We went to the doctor today and had a GREAT appointment. The Ultrasound went great and the babies are doing fabulous! They are both a little over an inch long and both of their hearts were beating 167 bmp - which is excellent for their age. That was probably they neatest feeling and experience to hear the heartbeats. Just so incredible to hear the lives that are inside my womb. God is so good to us!
They told us that they are fraternal twins because they have their own placenta - Dr. Nett said that this is the best situation to be in with twins. She said having faternal twins is a lot safer and they have fewer complications - and especially with the two uteruses that I have this is much perferable. Mike is hoping for a boy and a girl but I am pulling for either both boys or both girls - really because I want to dress them alike. I think it is precious to have them in matching outfits.
I asked her what our goal was in terms of due date and she wants me to at least make it to 34 weeks - which would put me at March 31st and she is hoping to deliver two healthy babies in April. So that is our prayer - to have April babies!
The taste of God is so good! We feel so blessed and honored that God is giving us two children! Wow - blows our mind!
On other news - A family at our school gave us two double strollers. One that is a Graco duoglider and the other is a jogging stroller (will I have the energy to jog???). Below are the pictures of the strollers and our babies, "Trick" and "Treat"
This is a 3-d ultrasound - you really can't tell anything by looking at it - excpet the placentas and baby a is at the bottom and baby b is on top.
I am trying to suck in as far as I can - my uterus is 12-14 weeks in size and I am only almost 10 weeks. So the babies seem to be pushing everything up - the bump is actually on my left side - CRAZY!

I was not tagged.
No, I was not tagged - I saw this on some other people's blog and thought it was fun. Here is a little bit more about Mike and I.
1. Who is your man? The man God has graciously given me is James Michael Spivey - Mike. God has blessed me with him and I enjoy every day with him!
2. How long have you been together? We started dating September 22, 2002 - we got engaged on March 9th, 2004 and we married on Dec. 4th, 2004
3. How long did you date? We dated for 1 yr and 6 months and we were engaged for 9 months.
4. How old is your man? Mike just turned 26 this past August.
5. Who eats more? Definitely Mike. But I have a feeling that I might surpass him the next few months.
6. Who said "I love you" first? He did.
7. Who is taller? He is.
8. Who sings better? He does.
9. Who does the laundry? I do...that is a scary thought to think of him doing it.
10. Who takes out the garbage? He does.
11. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? If you are facing it, me.
12. Who pays the bills? I do. I love filling out forms
13. Who is better with the computer? I am - I had to teach Mike where the power button is. He is doing bette since we got our Mac.
14. Who mows the lawn? What lawn? - If we had one, I am sure he would.
15. Who cooks dinner? I used to until I got pregnant - and now he does it all the time. Once I can smell and look I food I will take cooking back on.

17. Who pays when you go out? He does. It all comes from the same account, but he actually takes his card out and pays. It is more manly.
18. Who is most stubborn? I probably am - although I am normally not stubborn for lon.
19. Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? We both really try to, but sometimes pride gets in the way.
20. Whose parents do you see the most? Living so far away from family, we try to spilt it right down the middle. We see his ENTIRE family more, because they all live in the same city. My family lives in 4 different states - but we always see my parents and grandparents when we go home

22. Who asked who out? He did. Our first date was to a theme park called Wild Adventures - I got sick. :( but we had a great times.

24. Who is more sensitive? By far me - especially now that I am pregnant - it is way worse!!!

26. Who has more siblings? I do - I have 2 brothers and a sister. He just has one brother and one sister.

We are having some babies!!!
Well - hopefully we will be able to make this blog last for a while. We decided to write a blog so that our friends and family can keep up with what is going on with us as we embark on this exciting journey of having twins!
So here is a little bit about our life:
Mike and I were married Dec. 4th, 2004 and moved to Louisville, KY in May of 2005 for him to attend Southern Seminary. This has been such an incredible journey for us! God has really taught us so much and we can see His hand all over our lives! September 2nd, we found out that we are pregnant with our first child! It was such an exciting day!!! I told Mike that we were pregnant, by making him a video of our life together and then at the end of it was a picture of the pregnancy test. It was priceless! Then on September 12nd we got the second most exciting news - we are having TWINS!!!!! You cannot imagine our excitment and sense of shock! We are so thankful to the Lord for blessing us with these gifts!
