It is past midnight and Mike and I went to bed over 4 hours ago! Yes, we go to bed, most nights, before 8:30! (Mike works at UPS and I am pregnant with twins - enough said!) However, because of the fact that I am pregnant with twins and getting huge I don't get much sleep. Several factors play into this:
1.) The boys are very active inside of me on a strict 3 hour schedule. Set you watch - every 3 hours in the middle of the night they wake me up playing soccer or something inside. It doesn't really bother me, but there are times when I want to sit up a rock so they will go back to sleep. But I normally let them play and get their energy out and they will settle back down after 30 minutes or so. (I guess they are preparing me for their arrival - hopefully they will be on this type of schedule at birth!)
2.) I only have to wake up and go to the bathroom 6 times on average a night. Which means I spend 1 1/2 hours a night going to the bathroom: 5 minutes to just get out of the bed, 5 minutes to make it to the bathroom, 5 minutes to get back into the bed. No, it really doesn't take me THAT long, but it sure feels like it! It takes a lot of work to get this pregnant woman out of bed - sometimes I feel like I am a cow trying to stand up.
3.) Now that I am in my third trimester the lack of breathing sensation has arrived. Which is why I am up writing this blog. I know I am not dying from lack of oxogen, but I sure feel like it at times.
A doctor once told me that he never understood why the Lord made the pregnant woman to have to get up so many times in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and stuff, and he realized later that it was to begin to prepare her for when her children arrived. I am getting lots of preparation!
Onto another subtopic: We have been really enjoying feeling these boys move a lot lately! Mike and I will sit on the couch and just watch my stomach roll and poke out. It reminds me of that weird movie (I think SpaceBalls) where the alien pokes out of the stomach. All 4 sets of limbs on these boys are in the middle of my stomach, so at any given time you can push down and most likely feel something poking you back! The other night, a little foot was sticking up and Mike pushed it back down, and he (Not sure which child) pushed it back out, and Mike pushed it back in and so forth. We continued this for a while until the little guy got bored and moved on to kick me somewhere else. They boys (mostly Michael Dean) have started getting the hiccups! It is one of the wierdest feelings. I am sure all you pregant women know what I am talking about. He gets them for about 30 minutes at a time and it is just a constant, patterned "twitch" inside. It is so odd! I told Mike to scare my belly so he would stop, but he thought it was a cookoo idea!
Another subtopic: The kids at school love the fact that both of their teachers are pregnant (Laura just had her baby 2 weeks ago). They are so fascinated with the babies and watching our bellys grow. And they know that Ms. Laura has ONE baby and Ms. Molly has TWO babies - they even know the boys names, but they have a heard time with Jeremiah's name at times. When Laura told the kids she was pregnant, she said "I have a baby inside my tummy" and a little boy named Sam spoke up very shocked "YOU ATE A BABY!!!"
With the fact that they are surronded my pregnant women, these precious 5 years old have lots of questions at time that I AM NOT ANSWERING! For one: One day I was not feeling well and I sat down next to this little boy. He said "I know why you aren't feeling good - you have 2 boys that are kicking you and making you sick. By the way, How did those boys get inside of you?" My response: "Ask you parents!" Then, the other day they babies were kicking up a storm and they kids were enjoying feeling them kick. They will come up with ideas of what they are doing inside of me. Ben says "I bet they are playing so well with one another!" As I have 10 little hands crowded on my stomach one boy says "How are they going to come out?" My Response: "Ask your parents!" 5 year old Makayla's response: "Through her belly button!"

dbHi Molly and Mike!
It is always so great to read these progress reports. Your analysis/reporting is indeed adventuresome. In spite of all the physical situations - you bring out the JOY.
Much LOVE,
Uncle Dan
