4 Month Well-Check

The boys had their doctors appointment on Tuesday. They are both doing well and seem to be right on track for their development - they are actually a tad "behind" for their actual age and "ahead" for their adjusted age. (fyi: Their actual age is 4months but their adjusted age is about 3 months due to them being born 5 weeks early.)

The doctor said that a 4 month old should be able to:
- Laugh check
- Squeals not yet
- Bears Weight check
- Prone, Head 45 degrees check
- Follows 180 degrees check
- Spontaneous Smile check
- Hands Together check
- Grasps rattle briefly check
- Rolls to side check (as of yesterday)

So, really from the chart they only have to squeal to be on track - so I would say they are doing great for being born 5 weeks early!! Way to go boys!!!

Their weights were good as well too. The pediatrician said that they should gain an ounce a day for the first month or so, but from 3 months on they are expected to gain half an ounce - so they are right on track. Jeremiah weighs 11lbs.14oz. and Michael is 11lbs.12oz. So their weight gain is great and the doctor said we could go ahead and take them to 4 feedings a day (Which I have attempted the past 3 days with no luck). So, we are sticking with 5 for a few more days or so.

They still do not have a percentile for the weights - but they are in the 10 percentile for their height and 25 percentile for the head size!

So, their is the update on the boys! Now, here a few pictures from our day today! Enjoy!

Rock On!

LOVE the nursing pad on the back of the head!!! Priceless! The boys are adorable.

Found your blog through The Griffins, friends of my sister-in-law, and I have enjoyed watching the boys grow.

So Cute-I love the naked ones...Josiah loves being naked too! I will write you a longer message on facebook when I get some more time...but my suggestion for the four hour schedule thing-at least to try-would be to feed them at 8, 12, 4, and 8-and then feed them again at like 10 or 11 for what is called a "dream feed". You don't even wake them up-but you feed them "in their sleep" and then put them right back to bed. This might be easiest to do with bottles-since you can kinda force the bottle into their mouths, and see how much they are getting...That way they are still getting as much milk as before, but are spreading out during the day. Then when you feel like they are taking more during the day feedings you can slowly drop the dream feed. We never had to do this-but our friends did it with great success...with a bottle... Hope that helps-if it doesn't work let me know and I can give you a couple other suggestions. Although that means you will be up a little later in the evenings-hopefully they won't need it for too long and you can start getting to bed earlier...

this is kinda long but i couldn't find your email anywhere to write you that way...so here goes:
our blog templates are slightly different (the area where my post's text and pictures show up is wider than yours) and so i think you may only be able to have two columns of pictures rather than three like mine. and as far as rows go, well, you can do however many you'd like! but all i did was upload the pictures as "small" (you know how there are choices when you go to upload your pictures and you can select small, med, or large) and put a space between them. oh and i centered them. i also made sure i only choose pictures whose orientation were portrait (more taller than wide) rather than landscape (more wider than tall). but you could try all landscape ones, just use all the same orientation, that's what i'm trying to say! :)
i hope that all makes sense...email me if you have any questions - jennogreen@hotmail.com
oh and nick says hi back to mike!
