Pictures of Food and Pictures of Babies :)

I found this funny joke on another blog the other day. I thought it was fitting for me (especially number 4.)

FIVE SIGNS YOU MIGHT BE OBSESSED WITH COUPON DEALS
1. Much of Friday you think, "Just ONE more day before I can get the early edition of the Sunday paper!"

2. Every time your two-year-old sees a scrap of paper, she says, "Yook Mama, a pookon."

3. You have a minimum of 10 boxes of cereal...which you either got for free or got for mere tuppence!

4. You're more inclined to take pictures of your groceries than your children.

5. You are unashamedly talking about the pleasures of couponing on your blog...or you abandon your blog altogether for the joy of clipping and grocery shopping.

------

So, before I talk about my Publix deal this week, I am going to show you some pictures of the boys - I cannot get confused on priorities around here! :)

Jeremiah loved that hat!
We took the boys to the park! The weather was amazing!
Diggin' the hair! Static Electricity Baby!

This is one of my favorite pictures of the boys!

I am still working on our vacation posts (there are tons of pictures to upload) and I have some pictures that Mike took today that deserve their own post - so check back this weekend for more baby pics!

Now, onto the deals...

This was a good week at Publix for me. Everytime I go I am reminded of God's goodness to us and how thankful I am that He has allowed these coupon options to come about! It has come at the perfect time for our family and we are so thankful that He has provided these savings! Because he is Our Providor and the Giver of all things!

Here is what I purchased today. This was $159.49 worth of groceries and I paid $30.55

This is how I did it: (for those that actually care, if you don't it won't hurt my feelings if you want to skip over this part and come back tomorrow for baby pics :) )

FIRST: Everything i bought (minus the butter, french fries, and hamburger buns) were on sale.
SECOND: Everything I bought (minus the french fries and hamburger buns) I had coupons for. And trust me when I say that coupons have become a way of life for me that I might have cringed just a bit when I paid full price for those items. But it had to be done.
THIRD: I used southersavers.com to find these deals and locate the corresponding coupons. If you want to try these deals for yourself, go there to get the links to the coupons. This website is AMAZING!
FOURTH: Our Publix doubles all coupons up to .50 - so if I have a coupon for that amount or less listed it was doubled :)

Here it goes:
14 bags of Chex Mix (best deal). Sale Price: $1.67
I had a $1 printable manufacture coupon for each bag. (I had several from a few weeks back, and then the online coupon sites restocked their coupons, so I was able to print off more)
I had a $1 Target Coupon for each bag. You can print those HERE
This gave me a total of $2 in coupons for each bag. So they owed me .33 for each bag. After I had purchased all 14 bags I got $4.62 applied to other groceries. Can't beat that!

***When I got home Mike said "When will have enough Chex Mix?" I told him they paid me for those and then he was fine and dandy with having around 20 bags of Chex Mix in the house (we still have some in the pantry from the last sale!)***

2 Cascadian Farm Granola Cereal - Sale Price: BOGO at $3.99
I had a $1 printable manufacture coupon for each box.
Total for both boxes: 1.99

2 V8 Fusion Juice - Sale Price: BOGO at $3.99
I had a $1 printable manufacture coupon for each bottle.
Total for both bottles: 1.99

4 Ragu Pasta Sauce 45 oz. - Sale Price: BOGO at $3.19
I had two .75 off 2 jars coupons that came in the paper.
Total for 4 jars: $5.28

6 Hamburger Helpers - Sale Price: BOGO at $1.89

Total for 6 boxes: $4.20

6 packages of Ground Chuck - Sale Price: $1.99 a pound
I had six coupons for $1 off Ground beef for every box of Hamburger Helper.
So, I bought six separate packages - each package was around the $2.05 mark. Before the coupons it was $12.26 - after the coupons I paid $6.26 for all that meat!

2 Nestle Toll House Cookie Dough - Sale Price: BOGO at $3.29
I had a $1 printable manufacture coupon for each package.
Total for both packages: 1.29

1 Progresso Soup - Sale Price: $1.25 each
I had no coupons for the soup but bought it so I could get the following item free!

1 Pillsbury Biscuit - Sale Price: $1.00 each
I had a $1 off Biscuits when you buy a Progresso Soup

Total for both bottles: $1.19

5 Publix Reusable Bags - Price: .99 each
I had five coupons for a free bag with a purchase of 2 General Mills Product. I bought a lot of General Mills product - I could have used a lot more coupons for this, but figured 5 was plenty for this trip :)
Total for 5 bags: FREE

***4 Scrubbing Bubbles Cleaner - Sale Price: BOGO at $3.29
I found a $2 off 2 cans that were on the cans (Sweet!).
Total for all 4 cans: $2.58

***2 Windex Cleaner - Sale Price: $2.00 each
I had a $1 printable manufacture coupon
I found a .55 manufacture coupon on the bottle
Total for both bottles: $2.45

*** I will be submitting those in for a rebate offer for SC Johnson (You can get info on it at SouthernSavers.com). If you purchase three items on their list you can send in the receipt and receive $5 in rebate. With these sales it becomes a money making deal. You can submit this offer up to 3 times per household - but it has to be on seperate receipts. I TOTALLY forgot and have it all on the same receipts. So, I am going to go back up there tomorrow and see how we can fix that. But if I can get it seperated I will be sending in two rebate offers paying, $5.03 and receive $10 back - that is a profit of $4.97!!! And I can still wait for more coupons and savings and do it once more. This offer doesn't expire until July!

1 Country Crock Butter - Not on sale but we needed butter: $1.95
I had a .30 coupon from the paper (doubled to .60)
Final Price $1.35

Publix Fries - Not on sale: $2.69

Publix Hamburger Buns - Not on Sale: $1.19

Bananas - Not on Sale: $1.71 for the bunch

The Publix I went to allows you to use a competitor $5 off $25 purchase. So I had one from CVS and was so excited to use it!

TOTAL before sales:$159.49
TOTAL after sales before coupons: 93.30
TOTAL after Coupons: $30.55!!!

I was pretty excited about that! My favorite deals are, of course, getting paid for the Chex Mix, but the great deal I got on the meat and getting the large Ragu jars - that is a staple in our home!

Thanking the Lord for His goodness! He continues to provide for us as he always has!

Great job! If you got the $1.50/1 Ore-Ida frozen tots/fries coupon in your paper a couple of weeks ago, you can use those on the small easy fries that are $1.09/ea- paying a total of $.59 for two boxes- and they're pretty good! :)
