Cups and Spatulas

The boys are not allowed to play in the kitchen. Actually, they are not allowed to even go in the kitchen! The last thing in this world I would ever want to happen is for one of those little babies to toddle in the kitchen while I am cooking and an accident happen. I once saw an episode of Rescue 911, (remember that show?) about a little girl that walked behind her mother when she was going to pour out hot grease. The mom tripped and the grease spilled on top of the girl. Point being: the boys are not allowed in the kitchen.

side-note: I went to middle school with a boy named, Chris Tripp, who claimed he starred in one of those episodes. He played the reenactment of the boy that got bit by an alligator. I wonder if he was telling me the truth now that I think back on it?!?

Anyhow.

Where was I? Yes, the boys aren't allowed in the kitchen. Maybe one day when I have a bigger kitchen we will set boundaries in the kitchen, but for now - it's not allowed at all.

So, because they aren't in the kitchen we don't have any of those darling pictures of babies in the pots and pans cabinet, or in the tupperware drawer, or in the pantry. Instead, I brought the fun to them! I gave the boys a bowl full of measuring spoons, spatulas, and measuring cups.

They especially loved the spatulas - those were big hits!

Notice all the toys behind them. They sat there so content inspecting those kitchen items for most of the afternoon play time.

I took this picture again so that I could tidy up the toys in the background. It still didn't look tidy.

Cute! :) I think Josiah would always prefer to play with things that are not his toys! Funny how that works...
