Stomach Bug is a BEAST!!!

Whew!

These past 48 hours have been, horrendous, grisly, grotesque , horrible.

It all started on Wednesday.

Before church I didn't feel very good, but figured it was because of eating popcorn all day and nothing of substantial value. In the back of my mind I feared the oncoming on the Swine Flu, but tossed that theory aside, considering in the past month I have had 4 appendicitis, 2 brain tumors, a heart attack, and cancer of the spine , thought I have been sick many times. Anyhow. We went to church, got some dinner, and came on home. As I was in the middle of eating the Double Cheeseburger from Wendy's I realized that was a poor choice. I finished it nonetheless.

While I was feeding the babies for bedtime, I had a feeling like this would be my last nursing session. The boys seems disinterested and I wasn't even sure if they were even getting milk or not. So, we took a picture, since I was sure it would be the last time - and we don't have a picture of my nursing them at all. Don't worry - it will never be shown on the world wide web. It is for us and us only - I wanted to be able to document what it looks like to nurse two babies at the same time and to have evidence of one of my greatest accomplishments. I was very thankful that I got to nurse them that night - hopefully my body knew I wasn't well and produced antibodies for them to fight against this bug.

Anyhow.

After the boys went to bed, both Mike and I felt very tired and we hit the hay as well. I didn't feel good at all and tried to convince myself that it was just a cold and not the swine flu anything worse.

Then came 1 a.m. It hit me like a ton of bricks. Remember that double cheeseburger from Wendy's? It was definitely a poor choice. One that I kept remembering until 8 a.m. I honestly felt like I was going to die - but I can be over dramatic that way. At one point in the mid-morning hours, we were going to make our way to the ER. I felt like I was going to die, and we were unsure of what to do or what was going on. After a few phone calls, we were certain it was not the swine flu just a rotten case of the stomach bug. Once we got some good meds in me, I was asleep from around 9 in the morning to 8 at night. All day Mike had taken care of the babies - they were fed several times, changed several times, took a walk, and were put to bed! Way to go Mike!!!

Then came 9 p.m. It hit Mike like a ton of bricks. We got those good meds into his system but they didn't have quite the wonderful effect that they had on me. Around 4 in the morning he got up and threw up. I have never seen a man throw up that much. The only word to describe it is, Violent. He did feel better after he threw up, so he quickly got more meds and tried to go back to sleep before the nausea came back. When the boys woke up, I quarantined got him settled in the bedroom and spent the whole morning disinfecting our entire house and bathroom.

So far, he is feeling better - his fever is gone, nausea is gone, and is only complaining of a headache. Once the babies go to bed, he is going to come out of the bedroom and I will change our sheets. The boys don't seem to be getting yet - I am hoping that their last breastfeeding session provided some good antibodies for them.

Thankfully Mike and I didn't get it at the exact same time. If so, I would have given my momma a phone call with a desperate plea!!!

Whew!I told you it has been quite the 48 hours.

I didn't want to leave you without a pic of the little ones. So, this is Jeremiah (I think) playing with Aunt Wissa's laundry basket.
