Tonight Mike and I went out to see the team of Extreme Home Makeover build a home for a family in Louisvile. The Hughes family was sent to London while the team is building them a new home in 7 days. The family's oldest son was born without eyes and he is unable to straighten his arms and legs fully, so he is in a wheel chair. He attends classes at the University of Louisville and he is also in the marching band. His dad works at UPS during the night (No, Mike doesn't know him) so that he can go with his son to class to be his aid. He also pushes his wheelchair around during band practice and the games. Mike and I LOVE the show and watch it almost every Sunday night, so for them to be in Louisville is pretty neat. You can check out more information at Elite Extreme Dream . Here are some pictures of out adventure out to the site. We thought we would just go and it would take an hour or so - well we were quite wrong! We stood in line for 3 hours to load the shuttle bus to take us to the construction site. They did not allow anyone to walk or drive there. Once we got there we were able to watch the crew and we even saw two designers! Ty (the host) was not there - he was in Kansas City finishing a home over there. He will be back soon to reveal the house to the family. We then waitied around 45 minutes for the bus to take us back to our vehicles. It was well worth the wait! It was an experience to remember! The episode should air in February! We are excited to see it. We will probably make an effort to drive by the house in the next few weeks to see the finished product - who knows, maybe they will let people in to see the house. Today was fun and exciting, but it was also very exhausting!
