I went to the doctor yesterday and it was so disappointing. Everything is fine with the babies but my doctor is on maternity leave and the doctor I saw was not good at all. She was so rushed and didn't let me ask questions and would interupt me when I was trying to tell her something. The one thing that I LOVE about my doctor (Dr. Nett at Advocates for Women's Health - if anyone needs a ob/gyn - she is amazing!) is that she can be swamped and she will take whatever time she needs to with me. She will sit and listen and not rush me at all. Well, this doctor did not do that. Even when she went to hear their heartbeats she just found one and didn't even let us listen to it and she moved on to the next. She said she heard both of them, but they didn't sound different to us of what we were able to hear. When Dr. Nett did it she really took the time to let us listen to them and she made sure that she was listening to BOTH of the babies and not confusing one for the other. At least I only have one more appointment without Dr. Nett. It makes me so thankful that she is our doctor!
My next appointment is Nov. 20 (19 days!) and they should be able to tell us the gender of the babies. We are real excited to find out. I am leaning towards two boys and Mike really wants a boy and a girl, which I have to say would be real fun. My only thing with a boy and a girl is that I can't dress them EXACTLY alike. I am real excited about dressing the twins alike until they get too old where it is dorky (maybe around the age of 4). I am going to go all out with the twin stuff - our babies will wear the clothes like "Thing 1" and "Thing 2" or onsies that say "Wombmates" and all that fun stuff. Oh, we are going to have so much fun with these babies! We are blessed and will be very thrilled and thankful for whatever gender they are!
Another update: We got our cribs for the babies last weekend and a dresser - it is all deep cherry wood - B-e-a-utiful! We are so thankful that the cribs were given to us - it was a huge blessing. I am so ready to get the nursery ready for them! FUN!!!
On to non-baby news: Mike and I finally went grocery shopping, after days of eating hotdogs. It was an exciting evening and we even stayed mostly in budget. Well, I bought a head of lettuce for a salad that evening and when we got home I found two old heads in the refrigerator. I went to go put them in a bag to throw away and Mike proceeded to take them to the dumpster outside. As he walked outside I went to go get the lettuce to cut up and realized that I threw away the WRONG head of lettuce. I ran out to stop Mike but I was too late! I was so sad! I really wanted that salad. Mike went back to see how far in the dumpster it was but it was too far to be recovered. Poor Lettuce! :(
