Day Thirty-Four: February 3, 2011

Today started at 2 am for us. Poor Mike got hit with the stomach bug around that time. He was up the rest of the night with it and so the boys and I let him sleep most of the day. I actually spent the second half of the night on the guest bed and woke up to Michael turning on the light in his room. (we had a little chat before bedtime today that he was not to do that anymore.)

They were so adorable today and each day they talk more and more and in more complete sentences. They have these facial expressions with each questions that I think I am just going to start recording their everyday actions!

Today we learned our full names! Michael got his down right away and poor Jeremiah has about 152 syllables in his full name: Jer-e-mi-ah Had-don Spi-vey, ok maybe just 8 - but that's a lot for one little kid! (yet we still love his name - was our favorite name since we were dating!) Jeremiah will normally refer to himself as "miah" We are opposed to shortening his name, but knew this was easier for him to say, and the habit has formed that at times we call him that too - yikes! I have been trying to get him comfortable with saying JEREMIAH. Well, after Michael walked around much of the day saying "Michael Dean Spivey" poor Jeremiah thinks the answer to the questions "What's your full name?" is "Michael Spivey". And JUST when we got both of them to know their own names, we have confused them again!

Here is a short sweet video of Michael telling me his name:

The way he pronounces "Spivey" (Pivey). Reminds me of when I first started pronouncing it during our first few days of dating. I would pronounce it SPAVY (and even spelt it that way once).

Michael has been super sweet to Jeremiah the past few days whenever he knows he is sad or has just gotten a "talking to." He will say in a super soft, sweet voice "Come here Miah" - Jeremiah will lay near or on him and Michael will rub is back or give him a love pap and say "it's ok" - it's real sweet.
