What an EXCITING few days! Here are the exciting things that I have done this week:
- Slept
- Sat in the SAME spot on the couch
- Watched Alias (The same episodes twice)
- Ate
- Drank LOTS of water (and chocolate milk - it's my new craving!)
- Got up about 1,543 to go to the bathroom
- Played solitare - over and over
- Read every twin parent blog out there.
We go back to the doctor tomorrow. Which I am glad because I have been having some more "things" going on. Not really sure if any of it is anything, but I am glad that I can talk to her about it tomorrow. I have continued to have contractions since we have been home, but they still have not been painful. They have, however, lasted longer - so I am not sure what that means. I have a friend that used to work in the NICU and she said that if I have made any more progress she is sure that they will send me to the hospital to deliver these boys. That would be exciting. I would like for them to cook a little longer, but I am fine if the want to deliver them at almost 35 weeks. The steroid shots make a HUGE difference in their lung development and from what I have read and been told these little guys will be fine.
When Mike and I found out we were blessed with twins on Sept. 12th, they thought that they might not make it because they were a week behind in their growth. A week later we went to the doctor because we thought we had lost one due to bleeding and they were both thriving and right on target with there growth. My mom told me then that from Day ONE you have to commit your children to the Lord and trust Him to protect them. We have been so thankful to the Lord for protecting these little ones while in the womb and we will continue to trust Him to protect them as they make their way out and thrive outside the womb. In the past few days Mike and I have been talking about what they will look like and who they will become in life - those thoughts can be overwhelming when you think that you play a major part in their life and in who they become. When Mike and I got married we thanked our parents for their guidance because we believed that without them we would not have been the man and woman we have become. Mike and I just talked about how we need to continue to commit them to the Lord and trust Him that He will give us the wisdom and guidance to raise these boys to be men of God. Also, at our wedding, we had this phrase put in our program and on our candle holder things: "Depending upon Christ for strength and wisdom we commit ourselves to the establishment of a Christian home." That commitment began on December 4th, 2004 and now that we are approaching the birth of our sons, it remains such a strong commitment!
Well, I will let everyone know how things go tomorrow. ...Very Exciting!...
