We went and saw Michael and Jeremiah this afternoon. Michael is doing great and Jeremiah is still having a rough time. They said he is just struggling with the transition from Womb to World. Michael is off his oxygen and now only has to be able to hold his own temp for 48 hours and be able to feed from a bottle 3-5 times. He will not be coming home with us, but seems to be able to come home very shortly after. That is encouraging because the last thing we heard was that it would be 2-3 weeks before they would be home. Jeremiah needs to be able to ween off his oxygen and then hold his temp and feed from a bottle. His last tests came back very well and they are gradually weening him off. He still has not had a bath because they said every time the mess with him he sort of freaks out! Michael however has had his bath and, I must say, it quite a handsome clean fella! We got to hold him for about 45 minutes today. We are going back up there in just a few minutes and should be able to hold Jeremiah! It is still so surreal. Here are some pics of Michael after his bath - isn't he just so cute!!!

Congratulations!!I can't wait to meet those two little guys!
Yaaayyyyyyy!!!!! Our cute nephews are here and they are handsome!!! I am so proud of both of you, Mike and Molly. What an experience and it was obvious that God was present. At around 1:00 this morning, when I asked Molly how the labor was, she responded in that jolly, chipper voice that she always has, "It was a piece of cake!" Wow, and to think that we were worried because she has a low tolerance to pain. There was no need for that with an epidural ; )
After she called me and told me that she was 10 cm and going to the OR, I began to pray. The scripture that I flipped to was 2 Tim. 4:17a "But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me..." So that was my prayer for Mike and Molly. Now that is my prayer for Michael and Jeremiah that the Lord will stand with them and strengthen them.
The neat thing about this scripture is that Paul was reminding Timothy that it was God who stood and strengthened him, so that he could keep preaching to the Gentiles. One might also think that this was Paul's way of encouraging Timothy that God will always strengthen him (Timothy) to preach the word also.
Molly said that at church when the Word was being taught, the boys would constantly move. Mike hoped it was because they would be third generational preachers. So this scripture could also apply to the twins when they get older, "But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that through me the proclamation might be fully accomplished..."
Furthermore, if I am not mistaken before Molly got pregnant, Mike had a dream about a boy, and his name was Timothy. (It was during the time that the Spivey's were looking into adopting.) After the dream, Molly read 1st and 2nd Timothy, and said that it seemed to apply with boys because of the frequent references to "my son" (Paul called Timothy "my son"). She was for sure that they were going to adopt a boy. Although at this particular time in life, God had another plan.
Shortly later, to both of their surprise, Molly got pregnant with twin boys. Maybe these 2 books and Mike's dream about Timothy really applied to our 2 new nephews..... (1st and 2nd Timothy) ???? Will they be preachers too? maybe...
One thing is for sure... this is one proud aunt who lives with one proud uncle. 7 more days and we will be able to see those boys.
We love all 4 of y'all!!!!
