I know! But this time I have a good excuse for the lack of blogging lately: We Moved! (but most of all, if not all of y'all, already knew that)
I am hoping to get more regular with blogging now that life may slow down for a bit. This past month was crazy with ending at Thorington Road, getting ready to move, MOVE, getting settled in at FBC Soperton, my family came for Christmas, Christmas, then Mikes parents came for New years. We have enjoyed the hustle but I am ready for things to be normal and slow for a while.
The boys still don't think we live here - yesterday they saw our deep freezer - We have it in the laundry room here and at the old house it was in the kitchen, so the boys saw it daily. When they saw it they said "That goes home! I go home!" I think it was the first thing that they saw that they realized wasn't were it is "suppose to be." When you ask them who's house this is they still say "Mimi's house" - today that was followed with "Wissa's House?" It's not that they don't love it here, because they do, but I think they are just still a bit confused on where we are.
Well I have a few new years resolutions. Now that we live in a smaller community I am looking forward a little more time on my hands. I won't be as tempted to run to the store, or different activities, since it will take 30 minutes to get anywhere. One lady from a nearby town encouraged me that I will be able to treasure the little moments with my boys without so many distractions - I look forward to that. So for the new year I want to do a artsy project a month (12 projects total) and a fun cooking project a month with the boys. I am also going to try to tackle something that I think is fun, but may be a bit daunting. I am going to try to take a picture a day of our life and blog DAILY about it (*GASP*). If I can't blog daily, I will at least try to take a picture and put them all up when I blog... We will see how it goes, but I have seen other blogs that have done that I think it is real fun!
So here it goes:
Picture Number One: January 1, 2011
Background:
Yesterday (Jan 1) was a busy busy day for us. Mike's parents had been here for a few days and we were all making the trip (an hour away) to Macon to do a late Christmas with his mom's side of the family. The boys woke up a bit earlier then normal, 6 am, and didn't eat a huge breakfast. They had a few snacks in the car and we stopped at Mike's Dad's mom's house for a few minutes to see her. She has cancer and may not have much longer with us, so we try to stop and see her every chance we get. She is so precious to us and we cherish the moments we have with her!
We left Mema's house and went to drive up to Granny's house. It is only suppose to be about 45 minutes away, but took much longer due to a horrible semi-truck accident on the interstate. We didn't arrive at Granny's until 2 pm and lunch was still a ways away. The poor boys only had some applesauce and a few pieces of toast from breakfast and some teddy grahams in their tummies all day! We ate around 3:30 and Michael barely touched his food. (Their was a lot going on with people and commotion around that sometimes he gets too distracted to eat). They were exhausted by the time we got back on the road to come home and I was hoping they would sleep in the car - nope! no such luck!
We got home around 6 and fed them dinner and gave them a bath (both which Michael cried through, and would only eat raisins). We put them to bed with hopes they would sleep solid until morning!
A few hours after we laid the boys down Michael woke up and was never settled after that. He kept moaning and tensing his body up. He was toss and turn and squirm and cry. I think two factors playing into it: He was WAY over tired and he ate WAY too many raisins. Those day trips are just tough on them (and us) - we are still at the age when a nap is necessary for us to function well at night!
We let him come in the bed with us and Mike rubbed his back until he got still and eventually fell asleep. I tried to move him so I could get in the bed with them and he woke up miserable again. We had to force motrin in him (which he cried all the way through) and then about 2 seconds later (literally) he started laughing. I don't understand it - it was seriously like a switch. One minute he is miserable and the next minute he is laughing. About 30 minutes later we put him back in his bed and he went and stayed asleep!

We enjoyed our time with family the past few weeks and we are excited about being able to get to know our new family here!
