Day Six: January 6, 2011

You meet many people in life. Most everyone has friends in life and some of those friends are for a season, some you will know for a long long time, and some become family and you know will always be close for the rest of your life! We have those friends - and the Lord has blessed us with two families that I would consider my family and friends for life: The Joneses and The Walls.

Tony and Emily Walls - the day they moved from Moody Court. Pretty much a real crummy day!

We met Tony and Emily Walls in Seminary. They asked me to feed their plant while they went away for vacation. Pretty sure that their plant died, but thankfully that it didn't kill any hopes of our friendship! Their friendship during seminary was refreshing and seemed more like we lived next to family then just two people we only met a year prior! I am so thankful that the Lord put us in their stairwell and that He cultivated a friendship that only He can do. Since those first days of seminary (which were filled with "parties", Cranium Wars, Halo Events, Louisville Bats games, The hiding of the Bobble Men (which we found two of them yesterday, btw), cake decorating and me pouring my kitchen grease in their side yard (sorry for whoever lives there now - you have no grass thanks to me!) and hearing Tony scream at the TV during TN football) they have had two children: Abby and Isaiah and now live in Tennessee. The day they moved might go down in my books as one of the saddest days of my life! It was awful, but we are so thankful that the Lord has continued our friendship. We love the Walls family!

(I cannot believe that I don't have a picture of all four of us - I have some but not on the computer - so this is just me and LeeAnn Jones)

The Lord has been so sweet to us in blessing us with Robbie and LeeAnn. We go WAY back with the Jones's - Mike was good friends with them before we even started dating. He met them in college at Brewton-Parker and would watch Survivor with them at their apartment. When Mike and I first started dating we sat next to them at a basketball game - they invited us to their apartment for coffee afterwards. I do not like coffee but didn't want to offend and I guess I was nervous about not impressing his friends - so I accepted the coffee and the joke today is that I had coffee with my milk - I added tons of milk to try to drown out the taste. Pretty sure I didn't really drink any of it! During the majority of our dating time, Mike and I spent a lot of time with Robbie and LeeAnn. LeeAnn became a friend that I could share anything with and receive much encouragement and accountability. Their friendship has played a vital role in our lives! They were both in our wedding and they moved to Louisville a year before us. We lived in the same apartment complex at seminary and shared many meals in little apartments :). They moved to Georgia about a year before we ended seminary. After 2 years of not living in the same area, we are back together again! We live only 45 minutes from them now, where Robbie is also a pastor in a surrounding community. I told LeeAnn the other day that it does seem that the Lord is intending our friendship to be lifelong!

Today I met up with her and her three boys at Chick-Fil-A in Dublin. They have three sweet boys, Elijah (4), Jedidiah (2), and Joshua (1) and she is pregnant again with their fourth BOY!

We had a great time with them today and I hate that I didn't get a picture of the 5 boys together! The boys had a great time at ickalay (as Michael says it) and they loved playing with the Jones' boys on the playground. My conversation with LeeAnn was once again encouraging and I walked away refreshed! I am so looking forward to more times that we can get together with them as the Lord continues to cultivate our friendships!

After we ate lunch I needed to run a few errands with the boys! They did great for me and almost stayed awake until we got home. About 5 minutes before getting back into Soperton they were OUT - and I mean snoring was involved! I hated to wake them up so I drove around Soperton for a while trying to let them sleep longer. I had intentions of just parking in the carport and just sitting in their for the rest of their nap, but right when I pulled up Jeremiah woke up. Which means - no more nap for the rest of the day!

#6: January 6, 2011

I realize that this has turned more into just a play by play of my days - so if it is boring I am so sorry. :( I will try to add more fun things that the boys are doing to livin it up a bit!

Hey Molly! Thanks for the sweet blog. The Lord truly blessed us and knew the exact friends we would need when he assigned our apartments. I have no doubt our friendship was God ordained. Something we prayed for so much, and God truly answered our prayers with two of the greatest friends we could ever asked for. We have so many sweet memories together that will last a lifetime. I thank God for the treasure I found in your friendship. You are one-of-a-kind!! Love you so much. Thanks for all the ways you bless my life!

I love your blog!! Also reading about the beautiful way that the Lord takes care of us and gives us blessing after blessing, friendships being at the top of the list. It's so great studying Isaiah because even in the midst of "woe, woe, woe" we read of His loving kindness toward His children. Since I'm not on facebook (and don't want to be)e-mail is my method of communication. Check yours...I sent on to you today. Love ya Gran
