Day Twelve: January 12, 2011

I had BSF today so we left bright and early this morning for the hour or so drive. Mike joined us this morning, while the boys and I were in BSF he had breakfast with a pastor from Warner Robins - he was actually the pastor, two pastors ago at FBC Soperton. It was a great and encouraging time for him. After BSF we went to Publix - found an AWESOME Publix - my cashier and bagger were so nice and excited about couponing. I have come to learn that nothing, just nothing compares to Publix. I spent about $24 and saved $70!!!! Then we went over to Kroger to do this weeks deals and spent $70 and saved $60 - rats! I was so disappointed in myself that I spend that much on groceries - that just doesn't happen, especially when I already went to Publix. Today I was weak to a deal :/... I did, however, get some things we used/like/needed at Kroger: Diapers, Chicken, Frozen Pizzas (it has been desired the past few days) and milk, eggs, lunch meat etc... What this means is two things:
1.) I am just going to have to cut the rest of the week this month on my grocery budget. I spend half of it today. *sigh*, so we have tons of food and I just need to stick to the basics for a few weeks.
2.) I have to resist deals. Now that I have a new store in play I can't just go just for the sake of the deal. It is sometimes hard to fight that temptation, but must be done. Must be!
3.) Now that I go to Macon on Wednesdays I should JUST stick to Publix and just not worry about Kroger. I spent the past year and a half ONLY shopping at Publix. I think it will be harder to split my weekly grocery money into two stores, then just pick one and shop there. So - One store. That's it!

The picture for the day was taken at Chick-Fil-a (or "Ickalei" as the boys say it). They ate GREAT and I gave them a brownie. Michael was being so silly smiling for the camera and so thus the picture! (And for those that know Mike, knows that he does a silly little joke by putting brownie on his teeth - like father, like son) Enjoy!
